Hungarian Automated Telescope Network

Le projet HATNet (abrĂ©viation de l'anglais Hungarian Automated Telescope Network) est un rĂ©seau de six petits tĂ©lescopes de 11 cm Ă  grand champ entiĂšrement automatisĂ©s « HAT ». L'objectif scientifique du projet est de dĂ©tecter et de caractĂ©riser des exoplanĂštes, et Ă©galement de trouver et de suivre des Ă©toiles variables brillantes. Le rĂ©seau est maintenu par le Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

L'acronyme HAT signifie Hungarian-made Automated Telescope, car il a été développé par un petit groupe de Hongrois qui se rencontrÚrent par le biais de l'Association hongroise d'astronomie en 1999. Les premiers développements de HAT-1 ont fait partie de projets d'études de Gåspår Bakos, sous la direction du Dr Géza Kovåcs. Ont aussi joué un rÎle important, József Låzår, Istvån Papp et Pål Såri.
