Cet article recense les étoiles à la fois brillantes et proches, triées par ordre de distance croissante à la Terre.

Critères

Sont incluses dans cette liste les étoiles :

  • dont la magnitude absolue est inférieure à 8,5 ; ce critère permet de lister les étoiles de la séquence principale plus brillantes qu'une naine rouge.
  • dont la distance à la Terre n'excède pas 15 parsecs, c'est-à-dire 48,2 années-lumière ; le Soleil n'étant plus visible à l'œil nu aux environs de 50 années-lumière de distance (sa magnitude apparente est alors de 5,7 ; la limite de visibilité d'une étoile à l'œil nu se situe entre 5,5 et 6,0), cette limite arbitraire est appropriée pour le propos de cette liste.

La magnitude absolue étant prise en compte, toutes les étoiles listées ici ne sont pas visibles à l'œil nu depuis la Terre.

Les coordonnées d'ascension droite et de déclinaison sont données pour l'époque J2000. Les mesures de distance sont basées sur le catalogue Hipparcos et d'autres données astrométriques. Dans le cas d'une binaire spectroscopique, le type spectral et la magnitude absolue sont typographiés en italiques.
