Glyptotherium
Glyptotherium est un genre éteint de mammifères xénarthres proche du tatou. Ces animaux faisaient partie de la mégafaune nord-américaine, dont beaucoup d’espèces ont aujourd’hui disparu[1].

Glyptotherium a dû s’éteindre à cause d’un changement climatique ou de la présence de l’Homme. L'espèce Glyptotherium texanum s'est éteinte il y a environ 12 000 ans[2].
